  1. MMPOC = modified mechanical post-conditioning, SD = standard deviation, CPB, cardio-pulmonary bypass, IABP, intra aortic balloon pump.
  2. Nominal variables were assessed by Chi square test or Fisher’s Exact test, where applicable. Continuous and ordinal variables were evaluated between two groups by Student’s t test and Mann–Whitney U test, respectively.
