Patients who underwent coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), valve repair/replacement, or an aortic operation in English hospitals between January 1, 2010, and Feb 29, 2016, as identified from the linked HES-APC and CPRD databases.† Restrict to the first cardiac surgery (index) observed for each patient during the study period.
