Light-microscopic findings in the left ventricular myocardium in Case 2 at 9 months after surgical correction. The myocardium is hypertrophic and exhibits anisokaryosis. Hyalinization and fibrosis of the perivascular stromal tissue, which is compatible with “patchy infarction,” are also visible. a. Epicardial portion of the LV. A severely thickened arteriolar wall is visible. The diameter of the arteriolar lumen is significantly decreased. Hyalinization and fibrosis of the perivascular stromal tissue are also visible. b.
