Surgical technique of mitral valve reconstruction with fresh autologous pericardium and artificial chordae. a Complete debridement of the infective and destructive valve tissue was performed first. b The fresh autologous pericardium was harvested and trimmed to an appropriate size corresponding to the defect of the mitral valve.
